CEDR is an open-source compilation and runtime framework for FPGA-integrated heterogeneous systems, enabling portable application development across Linux-based platforms. Building on our previous tutorials at ESWEEK, ISFPGA, and PACT, the proposed PACT’26 tutorial will provide a hands-on introduction to CEDR for application developers, system designers, and scheduling heuristic developers. In partnership with AMD, participants will use FPGA-based SoC platforms to explore accelerator integration, runtime extension, and performance profiling through a hands-on design-space exploration exercise conducted on physical FPGA boards. The tutorial combines a brief refresher on CEDR fundamentals with practical exercises on advanced topics, aiming to reduce the barrier to developing and optimizing applications for heterogeneous computing systems.
